Giving Access to a Tailored Tour

Tailored Tour pages are private. A visitor cannot see one unless they log in.

People log in with their Online Tour Reference (the login code printed on their PDF). To make that work, you create one member for the tour and link it to the tour page.

Every tour has a TTM number. It is printed on the front of the PDF: TTM5095 Blackwater North Yorkshire.pdf. This number is the reference for the tour across the system.

  • The PDF filename starts with the TTM number.
  • The tour page URL slug also starts with it.
  • The member email is TTM####@tailored-travel.co.uk so it is immediately identifiable in the members list.

The Online Tour Reference (the login code) is a separate short code derived from the tour, such as blad261. This is what the group types to log in. The TTM number is for internal reference only.

One tour number = one member = one tour page.

Everyone on that tour uses the same number. That is normal. The number identifies the tour, not the person.

The tour page must already exist and be published.

  1. Go to the Members section.
  2. Click Create, then choose Member - Tailored Tour.
  3. Fill in the form:

  1. Open the Member Tour Page field and pick the tour page this number unlocks.
  2. Save.

Approved must be on. If it is off, the number will not log anyone in, and the page will look empty. This is the most common mistake.

The password is always Tailored Travel. It is the same for every tour. People never type it. It only exists because the form requires one.

The member alone does not protect the page. You also restrict the page to that member.

  1. Go to the tour page in Content.
  2. Open the menu, then Public Access.
  3. Choose Specific members protection.
  4. Add the member you just created (the tour number).
  5. Set both Login Page and Error Page to the Tailored Tours landing page.
  6. Save.
  1. Open the tour page in a private or incognito browser window (so you are not logged in to the backoffice).
  2. You should be sent to the Tailored Tours page with the login form.
  3. Enter the tour number and submit.
  4. You should land on the tour with all its content showing.

If the page looks empty after logging in, the member is almost certainly not Approved. Go back and turn it on.

If the same organiser runs more than one tour

Each tour needs its own member. The email is always TTM####@tailored-travel.co.uk so it is always unique. No conflicts.
