Introduction
Tailored Travel is an independent, family-run group tour operator based in London. Founded in 1998, the company organises escorted coach tours for groups across the UK, Europe, and worldwide.
What the business does
Section titled “What the business does”Tailored Travel’s customers are group organisers — people who coordinate travel on behalf of a club, society, or group. The organiser deals with Tailored Travel directly and is responsible for booking on behalf of their members.
The company’s reputation is built on personal service. Tours are arranged around the organiser’s specific requirements, and over 90% of organisers return to book again year after year.
Types of tour
Section titled “Types of tour”The website is organised around five tour types, each with its own section:
Group Tours are pre-planned itineraries available to any organiser. They are listed publicly on the website, organised by destination. Potential customers browse the site, find a tour that suits their group, and contact Tailored Travel to discuss booking.
Tailored Tours are bespoke itineraries built for a specific group. They are not listed publicly. Once a tour is agreed and confirmed, Tailored Travel produces a PDF itinerary for the organiser. The website then hosts a private page for that group, accessible only with the tour number printed on their PDF.
Individual / Ready-Made Tours are pre-planned tours that individuals and smaller groups can join. They work similarly to Group Tours but are aimed at people travelling without a group organiser behind them.
School & College Tours are educational trips designed for student groups. Every tour is tailored to the school’s requirements. They work the same way as Tailored Tours: bespoke, PDF-driven, and organised around the teacher or trip coordinator.
Special / Event Tours are tied to major one-off or recurring events. The main example is Oberammergau — the Passion Play staged once per decade. These work like Group Tours but are event-specific.
