Step 1: Import the PDF via UpDoc

UpDoc reads the PDF and fills in the page content automatically. You will review what it extracted before the page is created.

Note down three things — you will need them during this step and the steps that follow:

What Where to find it Example
TTM number PDF filename TTM5171
Online Tour Reference Provided by Tailored Travel rchd271

In the Content section, right-click the Tailored Tours node in the left-hand tree and choose Create Document from Source.

Step 2 — Choose the document type and blueprint

Section titled “Step 2 — Choose the document type and blueprint”

Two prompts appear one after the other:

  1. Choose document type: select Tailored Tour
  2. Choose blueprint: select [Tailored Tour Blueprint]

Type the TTM number (e.g. TTM5171) in the Document Name field.

Do this before uploading the PDF. If you leave it blank, the system will use the tour title from the PDF instead. The TTM number is used throughout the system — it is how the member login and the URL all link up.

Click + Choose next to PDF File. A media picker opens.

Navigate to PDF > Tailored Tours. Then drag and drop the PDF into the picker. It uploads and is selected automatically. You will see it appear with a blue tick.

A green “Content extracted successfully” message confirms it worked. The system shows you three tabs of extracted content:

  • Page Properties — the tour title, short title, and description
  • Page Content — the itinerary, features, accommodation, sights, and extras
  • Tour Organiser — the organiser’s name, organisation, email, telephone, and address

Review these quickly. They should match the PDF. You can fix anything after the page is created.

Continue through to create the document. Umbraco creates the new Tailored Tour page under Tailored Tours.

Open the new page and click Save and publish.

Occasionally the import shows an error message. This is a timing issue — run the import again from Step 1 and it will succeed.
