Step 4: Build the Image Rotator
Every tour page has an image rotator near the top. You build it by adding images from the Sights media library.
The rotator shows one large stage image that changes every few seconds, with a strip of three smaller thumbnails alongside it. It can hold any number of images — every image you add takes its turn in the cycle.
The page thumbnail is the single image that represents the tour in listings and search results. You pick it from the rotator images — you do not upload a separate one.
How to choose which images go in
Section titled “How to choose which images go in”Use this rule, in order. Stop when there is nothing left to add.

Start with the itinerary. Read the day-by-day itinerary on the tour page. For each day, add the image of the place(s) named that day. Keep them in day order: day 1 first, then day 2, and so on.

Make sure there are at least four. A tour rotator should hold at least four images. If the itinerary names fewer than four photographable places, top up from the Sights list, then the More Sights list, until you reach four.

Then add any other Sights or More Sights images you have. Once the itinerary is covered and the count is at least four, any extra images of places mentioned in Sights or More Sights can go in too — after the itinerary images. Sights first, then More Sights.

Anything else stays out. If an image is not of a place mentioned in the itinerary, Sights, or More Sights, it does not belong on this tour’s rotator.
If the same place is mentioned in both the itinerary and Sights, add the image once, in its itinerary slot.
If you cannot reach four
Section titled “If you cannot reach four”Four is the floor, not a target to aim past. If the tour does not have four images available, do not pad it with pictures of places the tour does not visit — an off-tour image is worse than a short rotator.
Instead:
- Say so, and list the places that have no image
- The missing images are recorded so they can be requested from the designer
- The tour can still be published with fewer than four, marked as knowingly below standard, and topped up later when the images exist
How to choose the thumbnail
Section titled “How to choose the thumbnail”Pick one image from the rotator set. Default rule: the most recognisable image of the destination — one that still reads well at a small size on a phone.
