Content Model

The content model is a map of all the page types on the site. Each page type has a specific purpose and contains specific information. Knowing what each type is for helps you create the right kind of page in the right place.

Start here if the page is a tour

The site sells tours four different ways, and telling them apart matters more than anything else on this page. A group tour and a tailored tour sound like the same thing and are not.

Page types

Home	The homepage
Group Tours	The listing page showing all group tours
Group Tour	A single group tour that anyone can browse
Tailored Tours	The parent section holding all tailored tour pages
Tailored Tour	A single private itinerary for one group, access-protected
Individual Tours	The parent section for tours led by a named individual
Individual Tour	A single tour led by a named individual
Destinations	The listing page showing all destination sections
Web Page	Any other page — About Us, Contact, and destination landing pages
Site Settings	Where the logo, contact details and footer information are kept

How they fit together

The site has four tour branches: Group Tours, Tailored Tours, Individual Tours, and Oberammergau tours still to come. Most of your day-to-day work will be in Group Tours or Tailored Tours.

Destination pages sit alongside them and help organise the tour listings by region.

Web Pages cover everything else, and they can be nested inside each other to any depth. A tour of any kind can also have Web Pages beneath it if it needs sub-pages.

Site Settings is a single page rather than a section. It holds the things that appear on every page of the site — the logo, the company address and phone number, the copyright line and the accreditation badge. There is only ever one of them.
